Poetry by an albatross

The poet who calls himself An Albatross also has a real human name. Boys Records 'Press' is going to put out a small collection of his poems in the near future. At that time more information about his identity/body of work may or may not become available. Below is a selection of the poems that will be featured.

Thoughts on Maggie Cheung

in “Irma Vep”

Several years after

Assayas

cast Maggie Cheung

as herself

in “Irma Vep”

he married her.

If it had been

me

I wouldn't have

waited more than several days

and there would be

statues

built to commemorate

our

glorious

love.

Miss

You make me want to

learn guitar

so I can

play “I Can Hear Music”

to you

every night.

Redirect

Just so you know

half of the poems I have written about

girls

have in fact been written about

you.

The ones that were not written about

you,

though,

contain sentiments that I am happy to

redirect.

One Bored Night, on a Cruise Ship – Drunk Poems

I ate too much seafood

so my asshole burns,

and conversation with you,

(pretty Philipino girl)

nice as it may be,

will go nowhere,

physically, emotionally, or spiritually.

The less your friend talks,

the more interesting she seems.

But she probably is just as

disconnected

her surroundings as I am,

and she probably has romanticized her solitude as well.

Consequently,

I think that it's time I headed up that dusty trail;

entailing:

reading Borges,

ordering a fruit and cheese plate from room service,

and maybe jerking off in the bathroom.

Less is More

Someday

I am going to find myself

in a relationship.

At that point,

half of the art in my life

will lose meaning

and the other half

will gain more.
